STUDENTS in and around Malvern are celebrating a “superb” set of A level results.
Headteachers from various schools all expressed pride in students who collected their A level and BTEC results on Thursday, August 13.
Records broken at The Chase
It was an especially exciting day for The Chase, with a record number of students being accepted into their first-choice university places and apprenticeships.
The school said it was one of its strongest years, with its highest ever average point score per student.
More than 80 per cent of grades were A* to C and a third of all entries were graded A* or A. Meanwhile, half of all vocational entries achieved a Distinction or Distinction*.
Top performers included Alex Neville, receiving three A*s and one A, and Isobel Keepax, who achieved three A*s.
“Our students have excelled, with a record number securing their first‑choice university places or higher‑level apprenticeships,” said headteacher Mike Fieldhouse.
“These results reflect their talent and hard work, as well as the dedication of our staff in equipping them for future success.”

‘Enormously proud’ at Hanley Castle High School
At Hanley Castle High School, almost 80 per cent of grades were A* to C and more than half A* to B. Every further mathematics was awarded an A* or an A.
Standout performances including Luc Marchant, with three A*s, going on to study Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at University of Bath, and Charlie Clements, with two A*s and two As, going on to read medicine at the University of Cambridge.
More than half of BTECs were awarded Distinction or Distinction*.
Headteacher Mark Stow said: “We are enormously proud of this wonderful group of students.
“They have worked with real determination and have been rewarded with some quite superb outcomes, and it is fantastic to see them moving on to such an exciting range of universities, apprenticeships and careers.
“They are brilliant young people who will go on to make a positive difference wherever they land.”
High achievers at Malvern College
Independent school Malvern College is also celebrating another successful year, with 73 per cent of grades A* to B, and two pupils scoring full marks in the IB diploma – something achieved by less than one per cent of candidates worldwide.
“We are delighted with today’s results, which are exceptional across the board but also are testament to the determination and commitment shown by our pupils and their confidence to challenge themselves across different pathways,” said headmaster Keith Metcalfe.
