A young pupil has set himself the challenge of running a marathon in a month to help his school.
Seven-year-old Ted Hill from Malvern is running 26.2 miles throughout May to support Malvern Wells CE Primary School, which hopes to raise £15,000 to build a new outdoor play and learning space.
Ted said: “I want all the children at school to have a fun place to play.”
The funds will be used to transform an unused corner of the school grounds into a dedicated outdoor learning and play space.
Ted has set a personal fundraising target of £250.
The challenge will see him complete the full marathon distance around Malvern over the course of the month, with support from his family.
His mother, Elizabeth Hill, said: “Ted came up with the idea himself and he’s so determined.
“We’re incredibly proud of him.”
Ted’s challenge is part of a wider community effort to reach the school’s £15,000 fundraising goal.
The outdoor area will provide children with a space to learn, explore and enjoy nature.
Supporters can donate to Ted’s fundraiser through the GoFundMe page, Outdoor Learning Space at Malvern Wells CE Primary School.
