More than 28,000 temporary workers are being hired across supermarket aisles this Christmas.
Tesco has launched a nationwide festive recruitment drive across its Superstores and Extra branches to handle peak seasonal demand.
The temporary positions focus on serving customers in store and picking online grocery orders for home delivery.
Hourly pay starts at £13.28 across the UK, rising to £14.55 for stores inside the M25 boundary.
Staff working night shifts will also receive an additional premium of £2.35 per hour.
Applicants do not need a CV or prior retail experience to apply for the festive positions.
Interviews are being held in person and are scheduled to last around 30 minutes.
Flexible shifts are available throughout the day, including early mornings and evenings, with opportunities to move into permanent roles when posts arise.
Ela Golab, people services director at Tesco Group, said: “We’re excited to be recruiting festive colleagues to help make this a season to remember for our customers.
“We’re looking for people who can bring warmth, enthusiasm and a helpful service to every shopping trip.
“We’re also keen to hear from applicants who may want to stay with us after Christmas and begin building a career at Tesco.”
Ms Golab added: “No day is ever the same and festive colleagues will be able to feel the impact they make on every shift as they send customers home with a smile.
“What’s more, no experience is necessary – just the right attitude.”
Applications are open online through the Tesco careers website, with further vacancies rolling out across the country throughout October.
