Three Worcester venues recognised for nightlife safety

Three venues in Worcester have been recognised for setting the gold standard in nightlife safety.

Tramps Nightclub, Mode Sports Bar and Grill, and Velvet Nightclub have each been awarded Best Bar None (BBN) accreditation.

The national Home Office-backed licensing scheme recognises venues demonstrating excellence in safety, customer care, and responsible alcohol management.

It comes after Bottles Wine Bar recently became Worcester’s first BBN-accredited venue of 2026.

The accreditation process involved management teams undergoing a rigorous audit covering staff training, responsible alcohol retailing, emergency protocols, crowd management, and customer welfare policies.

It brings significant benefits to Worcester’s high street, making the city centre safer for both residents, visitors and students.

The scheme has also been shown to reduce alcohol-related incidents, build consumer trust, and support a more welcoming night-time environment.

And it strengthens active collaboration between local businesses, Worcester Business Improvement District (BID), and local authorities.

Worcester BID is actively encouraging and supporting more licensed member businesses of all sizes to take the free assessment and work towards accreditation.

The organisation offers guidance and support throughout the process to help venues meet the required standards.
