TRAGIC END Mum, dad & 2 young girls killed in horror crash leaving eldest daughter orphaned

A MUM, dad and two young girls were tragically killed in a horror crash that has left their eldest daughter orphaned.

Shannen Morgan, Shane Roller and their youngest children Lillie and Rubie died in the collision between Barnsley and Wakefield.

The couple's eldest daughter, 11, has now been left without her parents or younger siblings following the tragedy on Sunday.

Two other people were also killed after the family's Ford Focus collided with a motorbike just before 4pm.

Devastated friends and family have now paid tribute to the mum, dad and Rubie and Lillie.

They also vowed to look after the couple's other daughter after she lost her family.

Shane's brother Callum said: "Honestly lost for words. We lost two of our nieces, my sister in law and my amazing brother in a car accident due to a motorcycle on wrong side of road.

"I’m absolutely heartbroken. I’m gonna miss all of you! You all had a heart of gold. My heart is ripped into a million pieces!!"

Shannen's friend Chelsea Element wrote: "You are and always will be one of my closest friends.

"There are no words to describe the utter loss this has created for family/ friends and the community around us.

"I hope your (sic) at peace Shannen Morgan and Shane Roller, with your beautiful girls.

"Everyone will always look after [the eldest girl], she will never want for anything she has the love of everyone."

Her cousin Beth Brittain said: "My heart just hurts my brain won’t accept what’s happened.

"Shannen you was always my extra sister not just my cousin, we grew together. I just can’t speak. No words. Sleep tight my little Roller family your memory will live on for eternity."

While another pal added: "My heart is absolutely shattered, I’m lost, I’m numb. It just doesn’t seem real that all four off you are gone."

Security minister Dan Jarvis, MP for Barnsley North, also paid condolences.

He wrote on X: "Devastating news . My heartfelt condolences go to the family and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives."

A fundraising page has also been created for the family to help the couple's surviving daughter, who has been described as a huge Taylor Swift fan.

Paul Hepple, who organised the page, said: "We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for help.

"On 21st July 2024, a tragic car accident took the lives of [her] entire family — her loving mum, dad, and two little sisters.

"At just 11 years old, [she] has lost her whole world in an instant."

The horror unfolded yesterday afternoon as the family travelled in their car on the A61 close to Wakefield.

Shocking pictures taken after the horror smash show the burnt out wreckage of the family's car.

Tragically, Shannen, Shane, Rubie and Lillie were all declared dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist and female passenger were also killed following the collision.

Superintendent Alan Travis of Wakefield District Police said: "This is an absolutely tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of six lives. 

"Our thoughts go out to the families of those who have died who we are working with to provide support at this time."
