A woman who has been fighting a ‘ridiculous’ parking fine she received in Kidderminster for more than a year has said that her mental health is being affected by ongoing legal threats.
Julie Parsons, from Kidderminster, was issued a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) after parking in Weavers Wharf, which is managed by Euro Car Parks, in August 2025.
On the PCN, it states that Julie was issued the fine for giving ‘no valid payment or validation to cover the duration of the stay’.
Julie disputes this fact, saying that she paid for her stay at the Weavers Wharf and has shown proof of this payment to the Kidderminster Shuttle.
Despite repeatedly producing proof of her payment, 13 months on, Julie says she is still receiving letters threatening legal action if she does not pay her outstanding parking fine.
On Thursday (September 24), Julie received documents from HM Courts & Tribunal Service requiring her to respond to Euro Car Park’s claim that she owes them £170 or face a potential County Court Judgment (CCJ).
Julie says she has disputed the latest claim and is now seeking her own legal support.
“It is affecting my mental health now, so I have decided to make a solicitor’s appointment to see if they can offer legal help to make this go away.
“I have been fighting this for over 12 months now; it’s ridiculous.”
Speaking previously, Julie said that the continued legal threats were affecting her health, including causing her ‘palpitations’.
She said: “I work full-time in sales; I work in a high-pressure environment, so I can handle pressure, but this is actually affecting my health.
“Every time I get one of these letters, I get palpitations, I feel sick, I have an upset stomach because they are blackening my name with an alleged CCJ.
“I don’t want that to happen, but I can’t make them stop. I don’t know what I have to do.”
