Woman, 25, arrested after man stabbed near primary school

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following a stabbing in Kidderminster today (Friday, May 1).

A man in his 20s was stabbed on Woodbury Road earlier today and remains in hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A police cordon was in place near Birchen Coppice Primary Academy with a pedestrian and cycle route to the side of the school taped off by police.

The woman, aged 25, is currently in custody as enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Dave Knight said: “At this stage, we believe the suspect is known to the victim and it was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider community.

“The incident did not take place on school premises and is not connected to the nearby primary school, but officers are offering reassurance to staff and pupils.”
