AN independent gym has risen from the ashes of an unexpected closure.
Roots Fitness will be welcoming back old and new clients at its new venue in Droitwich Rugby Club following its sudden closure in March.
The business was one of many small independents that were subletting from the landlord, Physique Fitness, before it decided to close the site on Berry Hill Estate.

Owner of Roots Fitness, Stuart Brooks, admitted that the past few months have been incredibly hard following the unexpected closure.
“There has been no support financially and trying to find a venue in a short amount of time was hard,” he said.
“There has been a knock on costs from Physique for storage of kits, etc., and a loss of members, but we are restocking and rebranding.
“I have just had to try and manage my business and clients and take the hit.

“It has been emotional – not in the sense of bawling my eyes out – but it has been hard work in the current climate and the politics are always changing.”
Mr Brooks will officially open at his new venue off Hanbury Road on May 23 with a family fun day planned.
The event will feature a DJ, a bouncy castle, barbeque and bar inside the rugby club.
There will be various activities for adults and children.
Mr Brooks added: “I do want to say a big thank you to members who have supported me and to the rugby club.
“Without them, I don’t know if the gym would have reopened.”
What services does Root Fitness provide?
Roots Fitness was based at Physique Fitness for six years and focuses on tailoring its services to clients through one-to-one support.
Some clients go to the gym in severe pain or struggling to stand, and Mr Brooks works with them to achieve their goals, which could include reducing pain, walking, running marathons, and Hyrox training.
It will also help some of those who are members of Droitwich Rugby Club.
