Photos show work on major £20million theatre redevelopment

PHOTOS have shown work well underway for a £20million redevelopment of Malvern Theatres.

Several months into the major project, the theatre on Grange Road has shared how work is progressing.

Once complete, the theatre will have an upgraded Forum Theatre auditorium and backstage areas, improved access from Priory Park, new studio spaces for learning and performance and a new outdoor amphitheatre.

A large section around the theatre at the rear entrance is boarded up, meaning theatregoers can only access the building from the front entrance on Grange Road or a side entrance in Priory Park.

The theatre has previously said that, once the redevelopment is completed, the venue will be “one of the largest multi-venue arts centres under a single roof in Europe”.

Work began in January and is expected to be completed in autumn 2027. The theatre remains open throughout.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see things taking shape, and while there’s still a lot of work still to take place, we can’t wait to share more updates as the transformation continues.
