Care company team tackles Snowdon to raise funds for stroke victims

Climbing a mountain to make a difference,  a management team reached new heights in the name of charity.

Eleven members of the senior leadership team from care company Home Instead took part in a challenging team ascent of Mount Snowdon on Saturday, May 2 to raise funds and awareness for the Stroke Association.

The climb was organised by staff from the care company’s offices across the West Midlands, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

Laura Goodridge, CEO of Home Instead West Midlands and Cotswolds operations, said: “I am incredibly proud of the team for what they have achieved.

“The commitment, encouragement and support they showed one another throughout this journey has been outstanding.

“Reaching the summit of Snowdon together is something we will all remember, not just as a physical achievement, but as a shared moment of pride and connection.”

Home Instead delivers care in the community and supports people living with the long-term effects of stroke, helping them to remain independent in their own homes.

The idea for the Snowdon challenge took shape earlier this year, with the team following a demanding training programme in the months leading up to the climb.

Team members wanted the uphill challenge to reflect the resilience and determination shown by people living with the lasting effects of a stroke, and to raise awareness of what survivors and their families go through every day.

A spokesperson for the team said: “Every day, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke.

“Taking on Snowdon together gave us a small insight into challenge, endurance, and the importance of support when things become difficult.”

The Home Instead team has so far raised £1,622 for the Stroke Association, which provides lifelong support to stroke survivors and their families, funds research, and campaigns for improved recovery and care services.

They are continuing to encourage donations, with all funds going directly to the charity.

Donations can be made through their dedicated JustGiving page at justgiving.com/page/home-instead-hg.

The team hopes their efforts will not only raise funds but also inspire greater understanding of the daily challenges faced by stroke survivors and their loved ones.
