Elgar’s orchestra to perform its annual free concert for public

The Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra is set to perform a free concert for the public.

The annual event, part of the Elgar Festival 2026, will take place at The Guildhall, Worcester, on Saturday, May 30, at 1.30pm.

The performance will feature a programme including works by Elgar, Bach, and Mozart, as well as Lento for Strings by 1950s film composer Doreen Carwithen.

The orchestra, co-founded by Sir Edward Elgar himself, will be conducted by Keith Slade.

Audiences are encouraged to come early to guarantee a seat.
