A MAN has been jailed after he went on a stealing spree in Malvern.
Mark Hewitt, of no fixed abode in Hereford, targeted shops on Church Street and Belle Vue Terrace earlier this year.
He stole two Greggs bacon and cheese wraps, an omelette and “protein meals” from Iceland in the town centre.
The 45 year-old also went into TG Jones, formerly known as WHSmith, where he took a box of Celebrations, a box of Heroes and two books, to the value of £30.
After one of the thefts, he was also found to have cannabis on him.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop and one count of possession of a class B drug.

Hewitt has appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court, where he was sentenced to four weeks in prison each for two of the thefts, which will run concurrently. He was given another concurrent four weeks in prison for possessing cannabis.
An additional two-week sentence was handed down for the third theft, which will run consecutively.
Jail time was considered necessary due to Hewitt’s “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
He was also ordered to pay £15 in compensation.
