Worcester city centre is set to be transformed into cricket pitch as the popular Street Sixes cricket tournament returns today.
The Worcester Street Sixes, organised by the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation (WCF), is back on Wednesday, July 15, bringing an afternoon of sport, teamwork and community spirit to Cathedral Square and Worcester High Street.
Teams from businesses and organisations across the region will go head-to-head in a fast-paced six-a-side softball tournament.
Elsa-Marie Evans, event coordinator, said: “Worcester Street Sixes has become one of the highlights of our calendar.
“It’s fantastic to see businesses from across the county coming together to support the Foundation while enjoying a fun and memorable day.
“Whether you’re taking part or simply watching from the sidelines, there is always a brilliant atmosphere.”

Teams will take part from organisations including Bishop Fleming, JPM Broking Services, Danton HR & Training, MFG Solicitors, Sanctuary, the University of Worcester, Encore and Bespoke Advice.
The event is designed to be accessible for all abilities, welcoming both seasoned cricketers and complete beginners.
Participants can register from 12.30pm, with matches running from 1pm to 5pm. Each team can include up to 10 players for the six-a-side format.
The tournament is more than just a sporting competition, encouraging teamwork, strengthening local connections and creating a lively atmosphere in the city centre for participants and spectators alike.
This year’s event is supported by headline sponsor Worcestershire Ambassadors.
All funds raised will go towards supporting Worcestershire Cricket Foundation’s programmes across the county, focusing on inclusion, wellbeing and youth development through cricket.
