A POLICE officer alleged to have shared confidential data with family over social media is set to face an accelerated misconduct hearing.
The PC, referred to only as officer A, will appear before a West Mercia Misconduct panel on July 16, 2026, facing allegation of breach confidentiality and discreditable conduct.
It is alleged that the officer sent a series of WhatsApp messages which disclosed confidential information obtained from policing systems to their family and other people who are not part of law enforcement.

An accelerated misconduct hearing is a disciplinary hearing where there is undeniable evidence, such as a criminal conviction, which proves gross misconduct and that it is in the public interest for the officer to be barred from the police service immediately.
The hearing will be held at West Mercia Police’s Headquarters, Hindlip Hall, near Worcester, at 10am on Thursday (July 16).
