A MAN who was caught drunk and on drugs during a police chase has dodged immediate jail time because he has “turned his life around”.
Jason Salisbury, 34, had more than three times the drink drive limit for alcohol, as well as the breakdown products of cocaine and cannabis, in his system when he was finally stopped on Tudor Way in Worcester, after a police chase earlier this year.
It was also discovered that he did not have the correct licence or insurance on the Kia Sorrento he was driving at the time.

Sentenced
Salisbury, of Sentinal Close, Worcester, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence, drink driving, driving without insurance, and two counts of drug driving at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 12.
He was handed two 12-week prison sentences, suspended for two years, and an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Magistrates said the sentence would be suspended as “the defendant seems to have turned his life around”.
For drink driving, he was handed a five-year driving ban.
He will also have to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
