A NEW high end sports and cocktail bar promising an experience unlike anything else in Worcester city centre is set to open its doors before Christmas.
Social Sticks, a new ‘high-end’ bar with golf simulators and interactive darts, will soon be opening at the former Dart Side venue on Angel Place.
The business, which currently runs a site in Bromsgrove, will expand into the city, hoping to offer a fresh take on nightlife that blends sport, style, and hospitality.

Elliot Newton, one of four business partners behind the venture, said: “We found this location in Worcester and thought it was perfect, especially with everything going on around here [with the Scala Theatre].
“It is quite hard to find somewhere with tall ceilings and that is also open plan, which is exactly what we needed.”
The team, originally from Bromsgrove, opened their first branch there in December 2024 and have spent the past year searching for a second site.

They chose Worcester for its vibrancy and potential, aiming to bring something that will set it apart from other interactive sports bars.
Mr Newton said: “We wanted to provide something that nowhere else in the city offers and wanted to create that high-end cocktail bar, with the sports, so you can come here and watch the football or come for a cocktail and a date night.
“We want to create a friendly, high-end cocktail and sports bar where you can come in and recognise people and speak to everyone.

“This is something we are complimented on over in Bromsgrove – we try and recognise everyone that comes through the door, remember you and what drinks you have.
“We will be bringing in some really good food, nice cocktails, but also somewhere where people feel welcome.”

Images of the proposed interior show a stylish, modern venue featuring plush booth seating, marble finishes and brass fittings, alongside large screens for live sport and interactive darts lanes.
Floor-to-ceiling arched windows and warm lighting are designed to create an upmarket atmosphere that can cater for both match days and cocktail evenings.
It is expected to be a family-friendly area during the day but will shift towards an adult focus in the evenings.

The team hopes to open the bar before Christmas.
Mr Newton said: “Looking to the future, we want more, like every other business.
“At the moment, our priority is to establish ourselves in the city centre, and if that goes well, we will be looking to expand again.”
