STRESS and anxiety accounts for more than a third of sickness absences at Worcestershire hospitals.
At Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s board meeting on Tuesday (October 13), chief people officer Ali Koeltgen said sickness had remained high during the summer and was higher than last year, despite efforts to promote the support available to staff.
In a report, she said: “Monthly sickness absence has increased by 0.11 percent from last month to 5.74 percent.
“This is 0.29 percent worse than the same month last year.”
