AN aerospace company in Redditch has released a statement after the death of a worker on site.
The statement was released by Mettis Aerospace, who are based on Windsor Road, today (Friday, September 11) following the incident on Thursday (September 10).
In the statement, Mettis Aerospace chief executive Jeremy Cieslik confirmed, with ‘deep sadness’, the death of a colleague at the Redditch-based site.
Mr Cieslik also confirmed that Mettis Aerospace are cooperating with the authorities as the circumstances of the incident are investigated, and said that ‘out of respect’ for the individual’s family, no more details would be shared at this stage.
Jeremy Cieslik, chief executive of Mettis Aerospace, said: “It is with deep sadness that we confirm the death of one of our colleagues on site.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with their family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
“We are cooperating with the authorities as they investigate the circumstances and are supporting those affected.”
“Out of respect for the individual and their family’s privacy, we are not able to share further details at this stage.”
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have been contacted by the Redditch Advertiser for comment.
