Care home residents and staff have completed a 10K rowing challenge to support their communities.
The Great Rotherwood Row-Off took place on Monday, August 10, between Colwall Care Home in Malvern and Roden Hall in Shropshire, both operated by Rotherwood Healthcare.
Participants took turns on a rowing machine to reach the 10K target, raising a total of £160 for Colwall Community Church and Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith.
At Colwall Care Home, resident Audrey launched the challenge, followed by home manager Shelley Hearn, customer administrator Jasmine Cutler, and lifestyle coordinator Clare Lockley.
Together, they completed the distance in 57 minutes and 29 seconds.
Audrey said: “It was fun, I could have done much more when I was younger.”
Residents and members of Colwall Community Church were among those cheering on the team.
Ms Lockley said: “Fantastic to have residents cheering us all on.”

At Roden Hall, 10 team members took part in the challenge as residents, families, and visitors offered their support.
Resident Joyce donated to Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith and expressed her pride in the team, while fellow resident Pam said she would have loved to join in if she had been able.
Chelsie Walne, home manager at Roden Hall, said: “It was fantastic to see everyone get behind the Row-Off.
“There was a real sense of fun and friendly competition, and it was wonderful to see residents, team members, families, and the wider community supporting both teams.”
The event was designed to engage residents in a meaningful group activity, whether by participating in the rowing or supporting from the sidelines.
Rotherwood Healthcare said that community connections and enriching activities are an important part of daily life at their care homes.
