Two colleagues are lacing up their walking boots to support a homelessness charity.
Celia Felgate and Carly Barnes, from Worcester-based marketing and customer experience consultancy Fresh Nous, are taking part in the 10-mile Step Up for Maggs walk on Wednesday, May 20.
The route begins at Maggs Day Centre in Malvern and finishes at the charity’s Worcester Day Centre.
Celia Felgate, director at Fresh Nous, said: “Based in the centre of Worcester, we see the important work that Maggs does for our homeless community daily.
“This walk felt like the least we could do to give back to a charity that gives so much to our city.
“We’re proud to support them in what is a landmark year for the organisation.”
The walk follows the Rail Trail, and is organised in partnership with the Malvern Walking Festival and Worcester Ramblers.
It’s organised in partnership with Worcester Ramblers to mark 40 years of Maggs supporting people experiencing homelessness in Worcestershire.
Maggs Day Centre has provided support to people experiencing homelessness across Worcestershire for four decades, offering hot meals, safe spaces and access to mental health services and practical support.
Supporters can donate to Celia and Carly’s fundraising effort at justgiving.com/page/fresh-nous-for-maggs.
Melissa Blewitt, fundraising, communications, and relationships manager at Maggs Day Centre, said: “Step Up for Maggs is a fantastic way for our community to come together in support of people experiencing homelessness across Worcestershire.
“Every pound raised helps us continue providing practical, compassionate support to people who may have nowhere else to turn.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone taking part in the walk this year.”
