A CITY health shop that has served customers for more than a decade is celebrating after successfully transforming from a national chain store into an independent business.
The Very Healthy Shop, in The Shambles, has marked six months since owner Alex Griffiths rebranded it from a national high street chain into an independent business.
Ms Griffiths, who had worked at the wellness chain Revital since 2012, took a leap of faith to purchase the premises after it was revealed the store would be closing.

She then decided to transform the space into an independent brand while still preserving the essential health expertise that the chain Revital provided.
“I am so excited for this next chapter as a fully independent health shop and to continue to serve our local and wider communities,” says Ms Griffiths, owner of The Very Healthy Shop.
“I’m incredibly grateful to all our amazing customers and to my fantastic team for their support and faith throughout the years.
“We are looking forward to inspiring our community with lots of positive changes ahead.”

Ms Griffiths first started in the health retail sector in 2005 and joined the store under the Revital branch in 2012 before becoming store manager in 2017.
During that time, she became a registered nutritional therapist, qualified aromatherapist, and food technology teacher, with additional training in natural cosmetics, Reiki, and laughter yoga.
She is supported by a team whose members are all trained in nutrition or related health disciplines, bringing together more than 45 years of experience.
The Very Healthy Shop also has a dedicated therapy space that has been operating for around a decade.

The centre now offers a growing range of holistic health and wellbeing services, including acupuncture, reflexology, medical herbalism, reiki, sound therapy, nutritional therapy, and counselling.
Food intolerance testing and bioresonance services are also available through the practitioner team.
Six months after becoming independent, Ms Griffiths said the response from customers has reinforced her belief in the importance of independent businesses and specialist expertise on Worcester’s high street.
The Very Healthy Shop is open at 49 The Shambles in Worcester.
