Worcestershire Open Studios Art Week is in full swing, drawing visitors to artists’ workplaces across the county.
Art lovers have enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at studios, homes and creative spaces where paintings, ceramics, textiles and more are brought to life.
Gemma Griffiths, co-organiser of Worcestershire Open Studios, said: “It has been wonderful to see Art Week get off to such a fantastic start.
“Artists have been welcoming visitors through their doors and we’re hearing some lovely stories of people discovering new work, having conversations with artists and exploring different parts of Worcestershire along the way.
“One of the things that makes Art Week so special is that everyone can create their own experience.
“You might visit an artist just around the corner, plan a trail of several studios, or make a day of it and explore somewhere completely new.
“And we’re only part-way through.
“There are still lots of opportunities to visit artists throughout this week and over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“It’s completely free to visit, so we’d encourage people to take a look at the guide or interactive map, choose a few artists that catch their eye and go exploring.”

Early feedback suggests some visitors have travelled from outside the county specifically to take part in the event.
A survey found that 85 per cent of respondents rated their experience as ‘Excellent’ while visitors have described Art Week as “inspirational, beautiful, innovative” and “creative, joyful exploring.”
One said: “Great to meet artists, see their work in the real, find new art and get about in Worcestershire’s beautiful countryside and city.”
Another visitor praised the “exciting original artwork and very engaging artists,” and added that the studios were often set in beautiful locations.
For some, it’s a chance to find a new favourite artist or purchase a one-of-a-kind piece. For others, it’s simply an enjoyable way to explore the county.
One visitor summed it up as a “Fun way to spend a weekend and a great way to explore (and obtain) locally produced art.”
Another described the experience more simply: “I love the art, cakes, and countryside!”
Worcestershire Open Studios provides an interactive map and printed guide on its website at www.worcestershireopenstudios.org to help visitors plan their own personalised Art Week trail.
Ms Griffiths said: “There’s still time to get involved.
“Whether you’re an art collector, a casual browser or just looking for something different to do, we’d love to see even more people out exploring and supporting Worcestershire’s creative community.”
