A Worcester man has been jailed for assaulting a taxi driver and driving whilst disqualified multiple times.
Stuart Halliday appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (August 20) charged with assault by beating, vehicle interference, two counts of driving whilst disqualified and two counts of driving without insurance.
The 44-year-old, of Diglis Dock Road, assaulted Axanuhr Rahman, a taxi driver, by beating him in Wychbold on May 9, 2025.
The magistrates noted that, while Halliday’s assault was over quickly, it had been committed within the confined space of a car and in front of a child.
Halliday was then caught driving a BMW on Temeside Way, Worcester, while disqualified and without insurance on May 22
He was once again caught behind the wheel while disqualified and without insurance on June 10.

The magistrates also noted how Halliday’s offences had been committed while serving a suspended sentence.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison, five months for the assault and four months for driving whilst disqualified.
He will have to pay £154 in compensation to the taxi driver, and will be disqualified from driving for three years and 137 days.
