Popular aqua park ‘absolutely chuffed’ to win top award as it reopens for new season

A popular water park in Hartlebury is set to reopen for the new season just weeks after winning a prestigious award.

The Lakeside Adventures team are celebrating after winning the top recognition at the Visit Worcestershire Awards 2026.

The park features over 4,000 sqm of giant inflatable obstacles floating on a crystal clear, spring-fed lake.

Liz Fox and her brother Mike Fellows, owners of Lakeside Adventures, said: “We’re absolutely chuffed to have won Best New Tourism Business at the Visit Worcestershire Awards.

“The judges came to see the Aqua Park, but we’re proud that the award reflects the whole Lakeside experience – the team, the welcome, the atmosphere, and everything that goes with a day at the lake.

“A massive thank you to our brilliant staff, our customers, and our friends and family who’ve mucked in behind the scenes from day one.”

The aqua park is located at a farm on Station Road and came about the owners were left with a giant hole in the ground due to a new road.

Mike Fellows and Lyz Fox started wakeboarding and paddleboarding as soon as a few inches of water started to form in the hole and the idea for the aqua park was born.

Lakeside Adventures also offers open water swimming, stand-up paddle boarding and fun-filled team building activities for families, friends, school groups and corporate visits.

The park reopens for its new season on Saturday (May 2).

This year, the team are adding two hour sessions due to popular demand along with paddle board rental and launch your own.

Lyz Fox said: “We’ve got our fun summer socials planned for our open water swim community and one of them is a synchronised swimming performance by the Synchro Stingrays plus a lesson for our fabulous open water swimmers afterwards.

“It’s also in celebration of Kate Bush Day.”

The owners added: “We’re really excited to be reopening the Aqua Park on May 2, it’s always a special moment seeing the lake come back to life after winter.

“Last season exceeded all our expectations, and being named Visit Worcestershire’s ‘New Tourism Business of the Year’ was a proud moment for us.

“It really reflects the support we’ve had from the local community, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back this summer.”
