A MALVERN pub is raising a glass after being named Pub of the Year by the Worcester branch of CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale).
The Nag’s Head on Bank Street beat off competition from pubs across the area to secure the prestigious title.
Every year, all CAMRA branches nominate and vote for their favourite pubs. The winners then go on to the county, regional and finally, national awards.

Landlord Alex Whistance has managed the Nag’s Head for 18 years. The pub routinely serves 14 to 15 cask ales, and maintains consistent quality and cellar standards.
Mark Griffiths, Worcester CAMRA branch chairman, presented Alex with the award, surrounded by branch members and pub customers.

What is CAMRA?
CAMRA or the Campaign for Real Ale is an organisation promoting traditional beer and pubs.
It was founded by four real ale enthusiasts in 1971 and hopes to ensure pubs with quality real ale, cider and perry are thriving within every community.
It does so by encouraging trade through beer festivals, lobbying the Government for change, running awards and developing pub guides.
