Road safety measures planned at blind spot after MP intervention

New road safety measures are set to be introduced at a known blind spot following the intervention of an MP.

Dame Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, raised residents’ concerns with local police road safety officers following a recent collision.

Following her intervention, signage on the B4196 at the junction with Church Lane is to be improved and SLOW markings will be painted on the roads in the village to warn drivers of vehicles exiting the junction.

Dame Harriett said: “I frequently engage with local police to share constituents’ feedback on rural road safety.

“I am pleased that the police have acted following this recent incident to address road safety concerns and hopefully, prevent future occurrences at this blind spot in Shrawley.

“Road safety and the declining performance of the local highways department major issues in my postbag at the moment and I am collecting feedback via a new Facebook group, West Worcestershire Roads Matter.”
