Summer fete set to return with live music, rides, stalls and attractions

A bumper day of fun is on the horizon.

The Warndon Villages Summer Fete returns to Ankerage Green on Sunday, July 12, promising a day full of entertainment and activities for all ages.

Taking place from noon to 4pm, the event will offer a mix of traditional favourites and new attractions, starting with live music from local performers Mel and Him.

Maxine Spaull, event organiser, said: “The Summer Fete is all about bringing our community together for a fantastic day out.

“We’ve added some exciting new attractions this year alongside all the traditional favourites, so there’s truly something for everyone.

“Every visit helps support the work we do throughout the year, making a real difference to people in our community.”

The programme includes pony rides, a merry-go-round, inflatables, bungee trampolines, drumming workshops, face painting, Punch and Judy shows, and magic performances.

One of the attractions this year is The Gaming Pad, a mobile gaming bus equipped with the latest consoles and VR experiences.

Visitors can also enjoy performances by the K-Pop Demon Hunters and look out for surprise guests.

More than 70 community groups, charities, businesses and traders will have stalls offering handmade crafts, games, and demonstrations.

There will also be a wide selection of food and drink, including a horsebox bar serving Hawkstone beer, cocktails and soft drinks.

The Lyppard Hub will be open throughout the day, giving residents a chance to explore its facilities and find out about the more than 60 clubs, classes and groups meeting regularly.

The grand raffle will return, offering prizes donated by businesses and raising funds for the hub’s projects, including its Dementia-Friendly Café, Community Coffee Mornings and Bereavement Café.

These services aim to reduce isolation and provide vital support to residents.

Ankerage Green will host the main festivities, with the nearby centre also running activities throughout the day.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome.

With live entertainment, hands-on activities and stalls to browse, the Summer Fete is set to be a day of fun and community celebration.
