A LONG-awaited investigation into the Rochford landslip has taken a major step forward as the council considers how to finally fix the road.
Worcestershire County Council has finally received draft findings from an investigation into the major Rochford landslip as work continues to find a long-term solution.
The B4204 at Rochford, near Tenbury Wells, has been affected since part of the road gave way following heavy rain on February 5.

Drone photographs captured the dramatic scale of the landslip at the time, with the ground beneath part of the carriageway giving way.

Months later, the closure has continued to disrupt motorists and residents, with West Worcestershire MP Dame Harriett Baldwin recently criticising how long it is taking to resolve the problem.
She said her postbag was “full of messages” from people frustrated by lengthy closures at both Rochford and British Camp and called for an “accelerated solution”.
Council reveal update on Rochford slip
In an update, Worcestershire County Council has confirmed it has undertaken detailed investigation work to establish the circumstances surrounding the Rochford landslip and determine a long-term solution.

“We have now received draft findings from this work and are seeking further information and clarification before the reports are finalised.

“Alongside this, we have continued to develop potential options for the necessary works so that progress can be made wherever possible.
“These will continue to be refined as the remaining information becomes available.”
The latest update comes after the council previously said repair options for the Rochford route would be based on geotechnical findings and that a programme of works and estimated completion date could only be determined once an appropriate design had been agreed.
The council has not yet announced a date for when the road will fully reopen.
