A celebration of women’s cricket is bringing players of all ages together for a day of sport and community.
MEGAFEST 2026 will take place on Sunday, July 5 and is organised by the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation as part of its commitment to growing the women’s game and creating opportunities across the county.
Held from 10am to 2pm, MEGAFEST has become one of the highlights of Worcestershire’s cricket calendar, providing an opportunity to enjoy the game in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.
Elsa-Marie Evans, event co-ordinator, said: “MEGAFEST is one of our favourite events of the year because it celebrates everything that’s great about women’s cricket.
“The atmosphere is always fantastic, with players coming together to enjoy the game, meet new people and be part of a vibrant cricket community.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming teams from across the county and rounding off the day by watching the Women’s T20 World Cup Final together.”
The festival will feature both competitive and participation matches, ensuring everyone has a chance to play, regardless of experience or skill level.
Teams are encouraged to join in the spirit of the event by wearing fancy dress or club colours.
The day will conclude with a final match and awards ceremony, followed by a group viewing of the Women’s T20 World Cup Final at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
Harry Kitchen, executive director of the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, said: “Worcestershire Cricket Foundation exists to make cricket accessible to everyone, and events like MEGAFEST are a wonderful example of that in action.
“The growth of women’s and girls’ cricket across Worcestershire has been incredible to see, and this event provides an opportunity to celebrate that progress while welcoming new players into the game.
“It showcases the positive impact sport can have both on and off the field.”
In addition to promoting women’s cricket, MEGAFEST also shines a light on the foundation’s broader work in participation, inclusion, wellbeing, and youth development across the county.
