A Worcester compliance engineer has developed a digital platform to help businesses assess supplier compliance risks.
Mohammad Rizwan, with a background in chemical engineering, logistics, supply chain management, and sustainability, created ESGRisk Intelligence.
This platform is designed to aid small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in making more structured decisions about suppliers, compliance documents, and sustainability performance.
The tool is particularly useful for organisations needing to evaluate supplier risk, modern slavery concerns, environmental responsibilities, health and safety documentation, and wider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
Mr Rizwan’s work combines his professional experience in chemical compliance, quality control, supplier documentation, and regulatory processes with his academic research in artificial intelligence, ESG, and sustainable supply chain decision-making.
He said: “Many small and medium-sized businesses understand that ESG and supplier compliance are important, but they often struggle with where to start.
“My aim with ESGRisk Intelligence is to create a practical digital tool that helps companies review supplier information, identify potential risks, and make more informed sustainability decisions.”
The platform is being refined through feedback from professionals in ESG, health, safety and environment (HSE), compliance, procurement, and sustainability.
Its long-term aim is to serve as a practical tool to improve supplier due diligence.
Mr Rizwan has also been involved in research and speaking activities related to artificial intelligence, ESG, and sustainable supplier management.
His work reflects the growing need for practical digital solutions that can support responsible business decisions, particularly in manufacturing, chemicals, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
ESGRisk Intelligence is being developed to make ESG and supplier risk assessment more accessible, practical, and affordable for companies that may not have large sustainability or compliance teams.
