World famous US doughnut chain to open in UK as first location revealed

A famous American doughnut chain is set to make its UK debut.

Randy’s Donuts, which opened its first store in Inglewood, Los Angeles in 1952, looks set to launch in Edinburgh.

The brand is known for its giant 30-foot rooftop doughnut sign and its menu of doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffees, and cold drinks.

A planning application has been submitted to Edinburgh City Council for a site on Forrest Road, formerly occupied by Barburrito.

The location is in the heart of the city’s Old Town, close to the University of Edinburgh, the National Museum of Scotland, and the Royal Mile.
