Two men have been arrested after a plain-clothed police officer carried out patrols in areas of Malvern known for regular drug use.
Supported by uniformed officers, the men were arrested yesterday (October 7), both during vehicle stops.
One man failed a roadside drugs test, whilst another was found to be in possession of several wraps, thought to contain class A drugs.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Two arrested during drugs operation.
“Malvern Safer Neighbourhood officers today (October 7) carried out an operation involving plain-clothed and uniformed officers focusing on areas of regular drug use. We also had the assistance of Hereford Operational Policing Unit.
“This morning one man was arrested for failing a roadside drug test and taken to custody.
“This afternoon another man was stopped in a vehicle and was found to have a number of wraps believed to be class ‘A’ drugs. He was arrested for possession with intent to supply class ‘A’ drugs, and after failing a roadside drug test, he was further arrested for drug driving.
“Officers aim to carry out similar operations on a regular basis, to assist in tackling drug dealing in the Malvern Hills area.
“The information that we receive from members of the public is invaluable when it comes to organising these operations.
