WORCESTER has been home to plenty of places you might remember partying the night away in.
We take a look back at some of the popular city venues you can no longer head to for a groove, and may fondly – but perhaps hazily – remember.
Images
Images in The Butts was a popular city destination for decades but was closed down and the building that dated back to the 1870s was ultimately demolished to make way for student housing.

Drewids
Drewids in Lowesmoor, which was also known at points as Gonzo’s, The Stage and Evolution, ultimately closed as a nightclub venue to make way for Black Cherry Gentleman’s Club with the site operating now as Black Lace Gentleman’s Club.

Hideaway
Thought to be the city’s first ‘real’ nightclub, The Hideaway, which lay at the bottom of Bank Street just off the High Street, was a favourite of the 1970s.
It disappeared during the Crowngate redevelopment of the area.

Bamboo
Bamboo nightclub, formerly known as Torch and letter as Breeez was another venue popular among partyers.
It was ultimately closed and plans to open as The Pavilion in the Park were confirmed in 2012, with the venue later becoming Hickory’s Smokehouse as part of a 2018 transformation that cost over £1million.
