A housing group is hosting coffee mornings to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Platform Housing Group will hold the events on Tuesday, October 13 at its Central Park office in Worcester and Birmingham Business Park office in Solihull between 10am and 2pm as part of its two-year corporate charity partnership with Macmillan.
Chris Pinson Bradley, community engagement manager and chair of the fundraising committee at Platform Housing Group, said: “A coffee morning is such a simple and enjoyable way to bring colleagues together while raising money for an incredibly important cause.
“We are hoping for a fantastic selection of cakes, savoury treats and other homemade contributions from colleagues across both offices.
“Whether someone bakes, buys a slice of cake, takes part in a game or makes a donation, every contribution will help support Macmillan’s work.”
Attendees are invited to enjoy sweet and savoury treats, take part in fundraising games costing £2 to enter, and donate via cash or a dedicated QR code.
Colleagues will also be invited to write Christmas messages for people affected by cancer, with Macmillan providing the cards.
Mr Pinson Bradley said: “The card writing activity adds a particularly thoughtful element to the day.
“A short, handwritten message may only take a few minutes to write, but it could help someone feel remembered and supported during what can be a difficult time of the year.”
The coffee morning is the latest in a series of fundraising activities carried out by Platform as part of its partnership with Macmillan.
Earlier this year, staff and supporters completed a two-day, 200-mile charity bike ride.
Kate McGrory, relationship fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Platform Housing Group for continuing to support Macmillan through its two year corporate charity partnership.
“Coffee mornings are a wonderful way to bring people together and every cake sold, game played and donation made will help us provide practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer.
“We hope colleagues at both offices have a fantastic time and would like to thank everyone who helps make the the events a success.”
