A MAN has died after two vans crashed on the M5 near Tewkesbury closing the motorway for 12 hours.
Emergency services were called to the scene near junction 9 on Wednesday afternoon (May 6) after a report that a white Luton van had crashed with a Volkswagen Transporter and had come off the carriageway.
The driver of the white van, a man in his 30s from Warwickshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.

Footage taken from the scene showed an overturned van and a large emergency services presence.
The northbound carriageway of the motorway was closed between junctions 11 and 9 until early on Thursday morning (May 7) while a crash investigation got underway.
Gloucestershire Police has asked anyone who witnessed the crash, saw either of the vehicles in the moments beforehand, or who has dashcam footage to come forward.
Information can be supplied via the force’s website, quoting incident number 227 of May 6.
“The motorway was reopened earlier this morning and officers would like to thank motorists for their patience and co-operation during the closure,” a spokesperson said.
“Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in contact.”
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) was also in attendance.
A spokesperson said: ““We were called at 12.19pm on Wednesday, May 7 to an incident near Cheltenham.
“We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, and two operations officers to the scene.”
