POLICE made a discovery after stopping a scrap carrier in a Worcestershire village.
PC Pike noticed the carrier, due to the “large quantity” of scrap metal it was carrying, which they said had not been properly secured to the vehicle.
After carrying out further checks, the officer realised the driver also did not hold a valid waste carrier’s licence.

A Traffic Offence Report was issued to the driver for the insecure load, as well as a sign for the lack of the correct licence. Police also seized the scrap metal.
“Unsecured loads can pose a serious risk to other road users, and anyone transporting waste must ensure they hold the correct licence and comply with relevant legislation,” a Malvern Hills Police spokesperson said.
“Thank you to PC Pike and the Roads Policing Unit for their proactive work in keeping our roads safe.”
