Pub launches £10 two-course carvery to ‘give back’ to community

A pub in Chaddesley Corbett has launched a £10 two-course carvery as it seeks to ‘give back’ to the community.

The carvery deal is on offer at The Fox Inn, which is overseen by landlord Ben Giles, who has been at the helm for nearly eight years.

For £11, or £10 if customers are paying with cash, visitors to The Fox Inn can enjoy a two-course carvery, which includes a starter or a dessert.

According to Ben, after trialling the carvery deal in January, it was reintroduced as a way to ‘give back’ to the community during ‘tight’ economic times.

“The economy is very tight at the moment, and the last place that some people can go is for a meal out; it is a real luxury for some people,” He said.

“It is hard to get customers through the door, so we wanted to give them an attractive deal to give a bit back to the community.

“I have been here for nearly eight years, and we have had to jump a lot of hurdles, such as lockdown and right now, hospitality is one of the toughest industries to be in.

“You have got to be at the top of your game, work hard, do good food, do a good deal, and hopefully you will come through the other side.

“But it’s not all about the business, it’s about looking after your customers at the same time.”

After introducing the carvery deal, Ben is on a mission to get the word out to the community after receiving an initial positive response from customers.

He said: “We’ve had a good response to the carvery deal, we have been busy, but we are not packed.

“We are just trying to do a good deal and get the word out.

“I think people appreciate that we are putting on this deal, and the Fox has always been a carvery pub.”
