Rail customers are being told to travel only if necessary due to expected widespread disruption.
CrossCountry has issued the warning as a heatwave hits much of England and Wales, with reduced services running on some routes and delays likely along the network.
Mark Anderson, Customer and Commercial Director at CrossCountry said: “Very hot weather is expected across much of the country over the next few days, which may affect some journeys.

“We’ll be running services, but there will be widespread disruption.
“Please take care in the heat by bringing water and staying hydrated, check your journey before you travel, and if you can, consider travelling at a cooler time or delaying your trip on Wednesday and Thursday.”
Passengers can use tickets from Wednesday (June 24) or Thursday (June 25) on Friday (June 26).
