THE founder of a Worcestershire-based company met King Charles in London after the business won an award from His Majesty.
Daniel Walton, from Lower Broadheath, was invited to St James Palace, London, to meet the monarch on Thursday, July 9, after his company, OLPRO received The King’s Award for Enterprise in the category of Sustainable Development.
Mr Walton, who is also a Malvern Hills district councillor representing Broadheath, said: “It was an immense honour to discuss our commitment to sustainability with His Majesty.
“The King’s clear vision for a circular economy – one that prioritises reusing materials and designing products with longevity in mind – resonated deeply with our team.
“His encouragement has spurred us on to double down on our efforts to further reduce our carbon footprint, increase the volume of materials we reuse, and expand our range of products created from recycled plastic bottles.
“We hope our work serves as a benchmark for others in the industry to follow.”

OLPRO, a business which develops outdoor and leisure equipment, was previously awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2021 and, mor recently, the Chamber of Commerce Award for its drive in innovation.
