Over 20,000 speeding fines handed out thanks to mobile cameras in Worcestershire

OVER 20,000 speeding fines were handed out across Worcestershire in one year as a result of mobile speed cameras.

20,539 fixed penalties were given to drivers after they were caught speed between April 1, 2025, and April 1, 2026, a freedom of information request to West Mercia Police has shown.

33,328 retraining, or speed awareness, courses were also attended by drivers caught, while 1,666 offences were sent to be dealt with by the courts.

There is still a further 11,848 offences which are still in the system and an outcome has yet to be decided upon.
